Charlotte Whincup to join SFG20 panel

The Prime Minister has just confirmed the UK’s ambitious new climate target – an 81% cut in carbon emissions by 2035.
No-one in the property sector should underestimate the scale of this target and the work required if we are to play our part in reaching it. The built environment accounts for a quarter of the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions, and there is much to be done to get this figure down.
Speaking at the UN’s COP29 summit today, Sir Keir Starmer insisted the Government would not “tell people how to live their lives”, but that the target is vital to the UK’s future prosperity and energy security.
And he’s right. Real change has to come from below rather than above, and the good news is it’s already happening.
At Bloom, sustainability is at the heart of all the services we provide. That’s why we’re working with a number of forward-thinking investors, developers, lenders and end users to help them reduce levels of both embodied and operational carbon in their property portfolios.
To hear more, tune in LIVE to the SFG20 Summit next Wednesday 20th November, where our Director Charlotte Whincup, who leads the Bloom Building Consultancy charge on sustainability, will join a panel of leading experts from across the UK to discuss how futureproofing a building can be as good for the bottom line as it is for the environment.
