Bloom instructed as: Lead Consultant – Project Management, Employer’s Agent & Quantity Surveyor

Contract value: £3m

Works completed: Bloom was appointed as lead consultant on this cladding remediation scheme, concerning replacement of existing cladding to a 6-storey building in Hackney. We were responsible for full project coordination during design stage, procurement and construction. The scheme involved external wall remediation works as per the recommendations of an FRAEW report and was funded by the Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS).

Key features of this project and our role:

• We provided Project Management, Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveying Services
• We were responsible for assembling the project team, managing the design phase, and developing a Specification of Works which addressed the requirements of the FRAEW
• Coordination of a competitive tender process to select a suitable contractor
• Preparation of the CSS Works Package to secure the Grant Funding Agreement
• Administration of a JCT Design and Build Contract and liaison with other consultants (e.g. Fire Engineer) to ensure compliance.

Bloom navigated the challenges of developing a compliant design and undertaking construction works to an occupied building, while complying with the requirements and protocols of the Cladding Safety Scheme.
